Infection may occur secondary to local trauma or the development of a boil or pustule. The primary bacteria involve is staphylococcus.

Signs and Symptoms of Clitoral Abscess

Clitoral abscess produces marked enlargement of the clitoris. It can reach 2-4 times the normal size. There is redness, swelling and tenderness in the area. Pain is present which is worsened with activities such as sexual intercourse.
