Rosacea is a chronic inflammation of the skin typically occurring on the cheeks and nose and more often in women between the age of 30 and 50. When it does occur in men it is more severe with extensive nose involvement called rhinophyma.

The cause of Rosacea is Unknown. Extreme temperatures, warm drinks, alcohol, spicy foods, and stress tend to aggravate this condition.

Signs and Symptoms of Acne Rosacea

Rosacea produces red, thickened skin on the nose and cheeks with visible small blood vessels. Pustules ( small, white blisters with pus) and papules (small raised bumps) sometimes occur along with flushing and tenderness.
