Overview of Phycomycosis 
Phycomycosis is a severe infection that involves the sinuses, orbit, brain, lung and digestive tract. It is most commonly seen in association with diabetes or other disorders than compromise the immune system.
Causes of Phycomycosis 
Phycomycosis is a fungal infection. It generally appears only in those that are immune suppressed.
Signs and Symptoms of Phycomycosis 
Symptoms depend on the area involved. It may produce headache, bulging eyes, tenderness and pain over the sinuses. Ulcers in the nose and mouth may occur. If the brain in involved, signs of meningitis or epidural or subdural abscess may occur. This may include headache, stiff neck, nausea and vomiting.
