The most common causes of adnexal torsion are ovarian masses or ovarian enlargement. These conditions include dermoids, corpus luteum cysts and other ovarian tumors.

Signs and Symptoms of Adnexal Torsion

Symptoms are varcharacterized by mild to severe pain in the lower abdomen on one side or the other. Nausea, vomiting and sweating occurs. A mass in the lower abdomen may be felt.
