A bacterial lung inflammation caused by the Mycoplasma bacteria. It is contagious and can cause infection in other body parts. It is most common in children (1 to 12 years), but can occur at any age.
Causes of Pneumonia, Mycoplasmal
Cause is due to pre-existing mycoplasmal infection in the nose, throat or bronchial tubes.
Signs and Symptoms of Pneumonia, Mycoplasmal
Symptoms include: cough (with or without sputum), fever, labored breathing, chest pain, abdominal pain (rare), and bluish skin (severe cases).
