Lethal midline granuloma is a condition involving the nose, the palate and adjacent sinuses. It leads to the erosion of these structures. Left untreated, it may eventually lead to death by extension of the disorder to the central nervous system.
Secondary bacterial infection can occur in the facial structures or the brain. Similarly, bleeding can occur in either of these locations.

Lethal midline granuloma constitutes a distinct group of lymphomas that exhibit the peculiar clinical features discussed above. Also, data suggests that Epstein Barr virus may play a role in the pathogenesis this disorder.
