Ichthysosis is the most commonly inherited skin disorder. It leads to a varcharacteristic skin rash. Usually the disease begins in early childhood. The rash may disappear for many years only to return. The rash is most prominent on the elbow, knees and hands. During the winter months, the rash tends to be more severe.
