Relapsing fever occurs when infection with the bacteria Borrelia is spread through ticks and lice.

Signs and Symptoms of Relapsing Fever

Relapsing fever produces headache, fever and chills. Joint pain and muscle pain is common. Nausea and vomiting occurs along abdominal discomfort. Dizziness, stiff neck, increased sensitivity to light and insomnia are common complaints. Nose bleeds may develop. These symptoms tend to reoccur.
