Necrobiosis Lipoidica Diabeticorum is a plaque like lesion which occurs in diabetes. The lesions have a typical appearance. The central areas are usually yellow and they are surrounded by a brownish border. They are most commonly found on the front of the shins. Ulceration and secondary infection may occur. The majority of people who develop these lesions have diabetes or will develop diabetes.

These lesions are usually round or oval. The center of the plaque is yellow. There is a reddish-brown border. The lesion is somewhat raised. Ulceration and infection often develops in the plaques.
