Causes of Amenorrhea, Secondary
The causes for this condition are as follows: menopause (over 35), breast feeding, pregnancy, discontinuing birth control pills, stress, psychological disorders, surgical removal of ovaries or uterus, endocrine disorders (pituitary, hypothalamus, thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal and ovarian glands), diabetes mellitus, tuberculosis, obesity, anorexia nervosa, bulimia, and strenuous exercise.
Signs and Symptoms of Amenorrhea, Secondary
The lack of menstrual periods for 3 or more months in a woman who has menstruated at least once.
